Visit to the Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a famous orphanage, nursery as well as a captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village. It is situated 13 kilometers to the Northeast of the Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. My visit to this lovely place occurred on my way to Kandy (which I will write about by way of another post).  These are some shots I captured during my visit. There are various rules and guidelines that we visitors need to follow when visiting this place. Especially, there are notices around the place notifying visitors not to feed the elephants since they are fed on time by the caretakers with necessary food.
