A Rooftop Time-lapse Video

Image
A Rooftop Time-lapse Video Hey blog-lovers. If you are familiar with my blog, you might already know that I enjoy photography and videography. As a self learnt person, I wanted to try out a new technique of videography that I have longed to try out for ages. So this post is about it. (Extracted from google public domain) Its called a time-lapse video or photography technique. A time-lapse is one that increases the sequence of a recording than the usual ordinary frequency of a video/series of photos when played (if a video). Meaning, when you record a video either using a time-lapse format or edit the video into a time-lapse clip, it would then play at about 30 times faster than the original clip.  (Extracted from google public domain) For better understanding, this is what Wikipedia says on this (using photography technical terms): "Time-lapse photography  is a technique whereby the frequency at which  film  frames are captured (the  frame rate ) is much more spread out than the

Getting Rid of Stress  Part II  How are you in the midst of this global pandemic? (Extracted from google public domain) Hey blog-lovers, it took me some time to get back to all of you as I was personally busy with my higher studies. Although we are already in the month of December of this year and a few weeks more for Christmas, I personally feel as if this year just started off. 2020 seems to have passed much quickly than any other years, and honestly, it was not a pleasant year at all.  (Extracted from google public domain) However, I thought of sharing some tips with my readers that I believe would help you get over the stress level created through the chaotic environment as that of the one we are currently living in. I'd suggest that you also read one of my previous Blog posts on How to get rid of Stress and see if that is of any use.   With the busy lifestyle that all of us follow regardless of whichever country we live in, we are always chasing our dreams and work for a bett

A Sacred visit to India

Image
A sacred visit to India India is the country with the second largest population in the world. Initially, being larger in land space, it has now become the present India. Being a country which gives priority to agriculture, nature, art, religious views, various languages spoken in different states and the nature friendliness in all ways is a great inspiration and change which is needed for an amazing experience. To make it more simple, it is a great "getaway". Why exactly is this visit sacred? For us Buddhists, India is very important due to the facts  related with the history of Buddhism. India is also called as "Buddhabumi" by Buddhist and hundreds of Sri Lankans visit the Sacred places every year. So this year, thanks to my parents, I got the chance to visit those places, see them with my own eyes and worship them with a heart filled with happiness. Leaving the Katunayaka Bandaranayaka International Airport late at night, we landed to Indira Gandhi Airport

Visit to the Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka

Image
Visit to the Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a famous orphanage, nursery as well as a captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village. It is situated 13 kilometers to the Northeast of the Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. My visit to this lovely place occurred on my way to Kandy (which I will write about by way of another post).  These are some shots I captured during my visit. Someone's enjoying his meal Boooo... such a happy face :)   Find me if you can!!!   Its bathing time!!!   P.S. There are various rules and guidelines that we visitors need to follow when visiting this place. Especially, there are notices around the place notifying visitors not to feed the elephants since they are fed on time by the caretakers with necessary food. Therefore lets obey the rules and keep the place clean when visiting it. Also you could grab awesome elephant souvenir

After studying pretty hard for the past 17 years at school, you next concentrate on deciding which field you want to advance in. This becomes a crucial moment in life. That's because everyone suggests you various things to pursue in, but you may either want only to pursue in one particular field, or you might want listen to your parents for once to decide wisely. All might not do the same in succeeding, but many try their best and most achieve it. So, at a point in life, you should be able to look back and be happy by looking at the hard work and commitments you've done to achieve what you have achieved.   After graduating from primary school in France, although I was pretty small, my next question was "what t

Trip to Katharahgama, Sri Lanka - Part III - Final

Trip to Kataragama Part III- Kirivehera Temple and Devalaya (Visit my previous posts for  Part I  & Part II of this post ) Kataragama Devalaya Speaking of the Kataragama Devalaya, it is believed that it is the place where the Kataragama God resides. The premise is situated a few meters away from the Kirivehera Temple. The passage from the temple to the Devalaya consists of several small stores which sell fruit baskets, garlands and flowers for the purpose of donating to the Kataragama God and other gods. It is really colorful when you see these stores during the night. Usually, regardless of which time of the day it is, this place is always crowded with thousands of people. But the day which we visited was a special day as it was the presidential elections, therefore, everyone has decided to stay at home instead of going anywhere. Well, we didn’t do that apparently. This is a picture of the passage from the temple to the Devalaya that I could capture. I got this s

Trip to Kataragama Part II- Kirivehera Temple and Devalaya (Visit my previous post for Part I of this post by clicking here ) Kirivehera Stupa According to the history written down in the Mahawansa Chronicle, by accepting King Mahasen’s invitation, Lord Buddha, followed by 500 Arahant monks visited the King’s Royal Garden named as “Kihirivane” in Sri Lanka. A golden chair had been kept prepared in the middle of the Royal Garden on which the Lord Buddha could sit on and preach a Dhamma Summon (where the stupa is built on now). Additionally, around Lord Buddha’s chair, the King had also taken steps to prepare 500 seats honorably for the arahant monks who had arrived with Lord Buddha to his Royal Garden as per his invitation. The King too listened to the Dhamma Summon preached by Lord Buddha and attained Sovan State (a stage in the chain of attaining Nibbhana). At the end of the Dhamma Summon, King Mahasen has requested for some memorable treasures which could be use
